Artist & Work Description

IM Suniy’s large-scale installation work, “A Rusty Word,” which has been underway since 2019, is a recreation of ten old, broken, and life-ending chandeliers from the 1980’s and 1990’s. They were collected from four different cities and reconnected with old beads. She created a scenario of light that could breathe again by creating light on a chandelier that might have had a splendid past. The organic movement implemented through Arduino – an open source computing platform and software development environment based on microcontroller boards – using specific sequences and time differences in light looks like a creature or part of the human body. Everyone is given fair and absolute time, but it is not known how long you will be able to extend. It is always different time and words through a physical activity called “breathing.”
