Martian Museum of Terrestrial Art

Mission: to interpret and understand contemporary art

6 March 2008 - 18 May 2008
Barbican Art Gallery

Described as ‘One of the year’s zaniest shows‘ by The Telegraph, this exhibition was created by fictional extraterrestrial curators for a fictional extraterrestrial public; their mission to examine ‘contemporary art’ and derive from it the meaning of human life and culture… An exhibition with a difference, it presents a humorous and fresh take on our culture as well as our art. Catch it before it finishes!

Blog development

April 29th, 2008

We are aiming to develop this blog in the future, adding features and elements that will eventually transform this space into a mini community site for artists. The blog will aim to help users communicate with like-minded artists: sharing ideas, information, resources and inspiration. The outcome of which may help freelance artists form relationships resulting in co-working and collaborations.

In the meantime we will be using the blog to notify subscribers of any relevant events, resources or news. We will be inviting and encouraging our contributing artists to write on the blog, detailing the thoughts and processes that go into producing their artworks.
